WW2 POland
Poland was where WW2 in Europe all started. It started with Germans invading Poland making Other countries such as England, France etc. declare war on Germany. After invading Poland, Germans or Nazis lead by Hitler, they started to invade other countries such as: Netherlands, Belgium, France etc.
The invasion of Poland started on 1st September 1939 by the Germans and Soviet. Poland tried to defeat for more than a month but it was useless. The Soviet and Germans took full control of Poland on 6th October 1939 after The Battle of Kock, but Poland never formally surrendered. After the invasion, Poland made a collective of resistance organizations forming the Polish Underground State. The Polish, under control of Germany and Soviet, prepared for a defensive war for many years ongoing. But most plans said they wouldn't start the fight until 1942.
In invading other countries. The Germans used a tactic called Blitzkrieg (lightning-war) which was really successful.
After years of fighting, not only with Poland, the Germans surrendered with help from other countries in Europe.
Overall Poland lost 150,000–200,000 people and the Germany lost about 3,250 (in which 2,000 of them died in fighting with the Polish troops.)
